Follows PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA-S reporting guidance

Systematic reviews, from first search to submission.

VennPub runs or imports your searches, removes duplicates you can inspect, screens records in two stages, and produces the reporting artifacts a journal asks for — with every number derived from the decisions you actually made.

Free for one complete review. No card required.

How a review runs

  1. 1

    Search or import

Query PubMed, Europe PMC and OpenAlex from one search strategy — each rendered in that database’s own dialect, so PubMed’s MeSH expansion still fires. Or upload exports from Embase, Scopus, Web of Science and Cochrane; columns are detected from the real export headers.

  2. 2

    Deduplicate, and check the merges

Records are matched on DOI, then on title similarity within a year. Every merge is reviewable side by side and can be split back apart — because a false merge silently deletes a study from your review, and nothing downstream would ever show it.

  3. 3

    Screen in two stages

Title and abstract, then full text, with structured exclusion reasons and keyboard shortcuts built for thousands of decisions. Both stages are kept separately, because PRISMA reports them separately.

  4. 4

    Report what you actually did

A PRISMA 2020 flow diagram whose every box is derived from your real decisions, and a PRISMA-S search appendix carrying the verbatim query each database was sent. Every number stays overridable, and the diagram warns you only about states that are genuinely impossible.

What you get

  • Exclusion keywords that highlight or filter, switchable term by term
  • Exclusion reasons you define per project, tallied for the PRISMA box
  • Duplicate review with a side-by-side diff and a split action
  • PRISMA diagram export as PNG, SVG and PDF, with selectable text
  • Search appendix as Markdown or PDF for your supplementary files
  • RIS and CSV export of the included set, at either stage

Start with one review, free.

The free tier runs a complete review end to end — searching, screening, deduplication and a PRISMA diagram. Paid plans add more projects, unlimited results per source, and publication-quality diagram and appendix downloads.
